Material Futures
Material Futures projects are dedicated to sustainable innovation design that envisions the future consumer experience and transforms ideas into solutions through rigorous research and collaboration.
The Material Futures team at Logitech assembled a multidisciplinary group of designers, engineers, and external collaborators to advance sustainable material innovation across five of the company’s brands. The program focused on developing cutting-edge material solutions, such as cork as a plastic replacement and advanced materials. These innovations required extensive research and development addressing the evolving needs of the gaming community.
The team balanced both short-term feasible solutions and long-term visionary concepts addressing the evolving needs of a digitally advanced world. A key project explored the use of cork as a sustainable alternative to plastic demonstrating the potential of natural materials to replace traditional plastics and reduce environmental impact. This cork initiative was featured in Fast Company highlighting its innovative approach to sustainability.
Contributions included concept development, material research, and future product experience exploration ensuring Logitech continues to lead in sustainability and design innovation. Other than the publicly shared projects, the majority of the work remains confidential.
